I can’t believe we’re already halfway through the year. I just don’t know where the last six months have gone!

Well, I actually have a theory about why the year has gone by so quickly to me: This has been my busiest year on record.

In the first six months of 2016, I have had more new instructions than I had in all of 2015! For a while, I asked myself the question, “Why? Why is this?” But now I’m chalking it up to keeping busy and doing things that grow my business, including:

  • Earning a great reputation for successful results with each claim
  • Ongoing marketing (including unusual marketing, like this newsletter, which nobody else does)
  • Excellent referral partners
  • Productive systems
  • Redesigning my website for better lead generation (visit it at www.theclaimsdesk.co.uk)

Thanks to these efforts, we are working with some excellent new clients, such as the managing agents of high net worth properties in the west end of London and a variety of residential and commercial property owners. I am also working with new clients as a results of active marketing, and providing the very best possible service. Good news does travel fast.

In addition, I’ve found time to work on my second book, called The Ultimate Success Secret, with Dan Kennedy and other successful entrepreneurs. What’s the secret to so much productivity? Long hours!

In all seriousness, just spending a lot of time on work can only get you so far. To really maximise the fruits of your labour, you need to work smarter and more efficiently. That’s why I swear by David Allen and his book, Getting Things Done.

I attribute a lot of my results to keeping organised and having excellent systems. David Allen recommends you have lists of things to do broken down by location. You may have a list of things to do in the office by project, in the home by project, and so on. He also says that it’s crucial to clear your mind of all the “to-do stuff”, so it can focus on thinking and creativity. While it may take a weekend to get all the organizational systems set up, it’s a very powerful productivity booster!

Now, when I’m not busy working, I’m normally reading. I usually have two or three books going at the same time, and right now I’m reading How I Raised Myself From Failure to Success in Selling by Frank Bettger. I also snagged a copy of Rob Moore’s brand-new book called Life Leverage: How to Get More Done in Less Time. How appropriate!
