Well blow me down. 2019. Where on earth did 2018 go? The older I get the faster times seems to fly past. We all have 24 hours in a day, but it not the hours in the day that count for you and me, it’s how you choose to use them.
Have you given any thought to what you want to achieve in 2019, or do you take the ‘C’est la Vie’ approach? Are you someone who sets lofty goals, writes them down, posts them on fridge and sings mantras about them in the vain hope they might come true, if you just ‘put it out there’?
We all know deep down the basic premise of ‘The Secret ‘ is
nonsense. woo woo
The universe won’t conspire to give you what you
But a goal born from a vision which truly speaks to your soul, and is supported by massive action, will become a dream come true.
I’m sure like me, you’ve met many people in your life, who want to change their life, achieve some magical dream or goal, or have wonderful ideas to enhance the lives of others. Every New Year, they tell you, they are going to do this, that or the other, and yet, they never seem to take one step in that direction? Maybe that person is you? It’s certainly been me on more than one occasion.
There are many reasons for not doing or achieving what we want.
It may be that the goal is what we think we want when it’s just someone else’s idea of success we feel we should aspire too. Perhaps we feel embarrassed to pursue our true passion. It may be that we don’t feel we have enough resources.
By resources I mean, time, money, knowledge, support. All of which are often not true. Maybe the fear of failure and rejection or anxiety is overwhelming. Or possibly ‘imposter syndrome’ is holding you back.
After all, who are you to live the life you desire and so richly deserve?
I don’t know.
I certainly don’t have all the answers
“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favour all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way. I have learned a deep respect for one of Goethe’s couplets: Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it!”
In the end, people will always judge you. Don’t live your life i
Best wishes for 2019
